Unfortunately, the best lessons in life are frequently painful ones. Also, I will never buy another game that relies on STEAM. Although the squad-based gameplay is interesting, it is more in line with the DoW board game. Furthermore, as a fan of the traditional DoW (resouce gathering, base/unit building), this game was not what I expected at all. In the meantime, my $50 game is totally useless. Unfortunately, there is no telling when it will be available. I have been to the DoW website, and they claim to be working on a correction. This defect makes the game virtually unplayable.

Be warned, If your sytem utilizes windows vista-32, then get ready for "Could not create dump file - error 183," every few minutes. I am definitely going to buy this game when it comes out.Īs a fan of DoW for several years, I have been looking forward to the release of this game for a long time. Some kind of alien race that overpowers their foes in great numbers. Then there's the mysterious and quick Eldar. They are the most offensive in my opinion. I picked up this game really quickly, it's very easy to learn how to play, and almost as easy to master in my opinion. Being matched with someone at your same skill level gives you more of a challenge.
Some are better armors for your units in that particular race. The ranking system is also awsome, higher rankings in a race has its rewards. You hardly build any buildings in the game, it's all about capturing points, and constantly sending your troops out on missions. The new gameplay is all about capturing and non-stop fighting and battling. From what I have played and seen so far, the graphics are great, way better then previous Dawn of War games. I'm guessing it's the LIVE account requirement that makes it so even if you want to play a LAN game, you better have a good internet connection. Tried "loading the game locally" but then ran into corruption issues. Several time's we have not been able to play because the Steam server was down. The constant hassle with the Steam account and the LIVE account is crazy. I guess not everyone has 3 friends that like to play.
The limitation of 3 on 3 is disappointing. The co-op compaigne is nicer than most campaignes I've ever seen. Keep in mind this review is representative of four players.
